Spruce up your Christmas Table with Fever-Tree Gin Crackers

Lately, we have found ourselves asking, would Christmas dinner really be Christmas dinner without the presence of colourful Christmas crackers and the ridiculous paper hats that they contain?

We don’t think so. But, most of us are happy to admit that Christmas crackers are usually full of terrible gifts that no one wants. Luckily, it doesn’t have to be that way this year.

The Christmas Cracker Tradition

Before we delve into it, we feel like we should share a little bit about the tradition of Christmas crackers here in the United Kingdom. Christmas crackers have been a staple here for more than a century, with a London sweet maker called Tom Smith apparently fusing the French ‘bon bon’ sweets and their mottos that he saw in Paris with the sparks and cracks that came from his fire.

Later, one of his three sons introduced the hats that we can all recognise to the crackers and a number of themed crackers were released. The gifts in each were unique, with crackers being made for bachelors and spinsters, Suffragettes and war heroes. They also marked special occasions.

Since then, crackers have evolved into the colourful crackers that we know and love today. Little cardboard tubes that we pull with our loved ones to see who will “win” when the bang occurs. Each cracker usually contains a gift and a festive joke, but the gifts can be a little bit questionable, to say the least.

This year, you can blend your love of Christmas crackers with your love of gin.

Introducing: Fever-Tree Gin Crackers

Fever-Tree Christmas Crackers

We’re all familiar with Fever-Tree, but have you heard about their new Fever-Tree Gin Crackers? We love using Fever-Tree Tonic Water in some of our cocktails, which made this pack of Christmas crackers all the more exciting for us.

The pack itself contains four different Fever-Tree offerings, with the Aromatic Tonic Water, Elderflower Tonic Water, Mediterranean Tonic Water and Premium Indian Tonic Water all coming in crackers that match the colours of their respective tins.

But, we would never share Christmas crackers that only contained tonic water with you. What good would they be on your Christmas table? Each of these Christmas crackers contains both Fever-Tree Tonic Water and a special gin tipple.

The Aromatic Tonic Water is complemented by a classic offering from Edinburgh Gin. The Elderflower Tonic Water comes with Hendrick’s Gin. The Mediterranean Tonic Water has been finished off with Chase Pink Grapefruit and Pomelo Gin and the Premium Indian Tonic Water comes with a Sipsmith London Dry Gin.

Preparing for the Holidays

It is safe to say that these Fever-Tree Christmas Crackers are definitely going to go down a treat if you are planning on inviting a handful of gin lovers to dinner. You might also want to take a look at Tarquin’s Figgy Pudding and Manchester Drink’s Snow Fairy Gin Liqueur if you are wanting to add a number of different seasonal offerings to your table.
